দেশের প্রথম সাবমেরিন ক্যাবল সি-মি-উই-৪-এর সিঙ্গাপুর প্রান্তে রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ কার্যক্রম চলমান থাকায় কক্সবাজার থেকে সিঙ্গাপুর রুটে যুক্ত সার্কিটগুলোর মাধ্যমে সেবা সাময়িকভাবে বন্ধ রয়েছে।

এ জন্য ১২ ঘণ্টার জন্য ইন্টারনেটের গতিতে বিঘ্ন ঘটতে পারে বলে জানিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ সাবমেরিন ক্যাবলস পিএলসি (বিএসসিপিএলসি)। শনিবার (২৭ জুলাই) প্রতিষ্ঠানটির মহাব্যবস্থাপক (চালনা ও রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ) সাইদুর রহমান এ তথ্য জানান।

বিএসসিপিএলসির উপসহকারী ব্যবস্থাপক সাইফুল ইসলামের পাঠানো বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, শনিবার (২৭ জুলাই) সকাল ৬টা থেকে সন্ধ্যা ৬টা পর্যন্ত কক্সবাজারে স্থাপিত দেশের প্রথম সাবমেরিন ক্যাবল সিস্টেমের (সি-মি-উই-৪) সিঙ্গাপুর প্রান্তে টুয়াস ল্যান্ডিং স্টেশনের নিকট কনসোর্টিয়াম কর্তৃক ল্যান্ড ক্যাবলের ত্রুটি নিরসনের লক্ষ্যে রক্ষণাবেক্ষণ কার্যক্রম গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে।

‘উক্ত সময়ে সি-মি-উই-৪-এর মাধ্যমে কক্সবাজার থেকে সিঙ্গাপুর রুটে যুক্ত সার্কিটগুলোর মাধ্যমে সেবা সাময়িকভাবে ব্যাহত হবে। সম্মানিত গ্রাহকগণের সাময়িক অসুবিধার জন্য বিএসসিপিএলসি কর্তৃপক্ষ আন্তরিকভাবে দুঃখ প্রকাশ করছে।’

উল্লেখ্য, বিএসসিপিএলসি সি-মি-উই-৪ এবং সি-মি-উই-৫ নামের দুটি আন্তর্জাতিক সাবমেরিন কেবল কনসোর্টিয়ামের (কোম্পানি) সদস্য। যেটি বাংলাদেশে সাবমেরিন ক্যাবলসের অধিক ক্ষমতা ও পর্যাপ্ততা নিশ্চিত করে। বর্তমানে সি-মি-উই-৪ এবং সি-মি-উই-৫ কেবল দুটির মাধ্যমে বাংলাদেশের ইন্টারনেট এবং আন্তর্জাতিক ভয়েস ট্র্যাফিক চলছে।

সি-মি-উই-৪ এর জন্য বিএসসিসিএলের কেবল ল্যান্ডিং স্টেশন রয়েছে কক্সবাজারে। আর সি-মি-উই-৫-এর জন্য বিএসসিসিএলের ল্যান্ডিং স্টেশন চালু হয়েছে পটুয়াখালীর কুয়াকাটাতে।

Broadband Internet Outage in Bangladesh État: Résolu

Internet services in Bangladesh have been disrupted after the SEA-ME-WE 5 subsea cable was damaged.

As reported by the Daily Star, a Bangladesh newspaper, the breakage occurred just after midnight on April 20.

 

Despite the disruption, which is expected to last for two-three days, the country's telecom providers have not reported any issues, but are monitoring the situation.

Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC (BSCPLC), a stakeholder in SEA-ME-WE 5, said the breakage happened between Singapore and Malaysia.

Because of this, all traffic between Singapore and SEA-ME-WE 5’s landing station in Kuakata, Bangladesh, is down. The damage means that Bangladesh has lost 1.7 Tbps of international capacity. The country has been able to source 100 Gbps from the western part of the cable that runs to France. Our users can find websites loading slow because our servers are hosted in USA, UK, Sigapore.
